The Authority has published Annual Accounts 2006. These accounts cover the period 01 January 2006 to 31 December 2006.
7 December 2007 Framework Study: Study on the Implementation and Impact of the National Framework of Qualifications
The Authority has established terms of reference for a study on the implementation and impact of the National Framework of Qualifications and the associated policies for access, transfer and progression for learners. The study will involve all stakeholder involved in Framework implementation and will last from Spring 2008 until Summer 2009.
17 October 2007 Quality Review of the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland: Response from the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment
The Qualifications Authority is pleased to confirm that its formal Quality Review process has now concluded with the response of the commissioning Departments to the report of the External Panel and to the Qualifications Authority’s response to the Panel’s findings. 23 August 2007 Report on the Recognition of Non-formal and Informal Learning
This country background report on the recognition of non-formal and info rmal learning in Ireland has been completed as part of an OECD activity on the “Recognition of non-formal and informal learning (2006 – 2008)” in which Ireland participates.

The Qualifications Authority has undertaken a self-evaluation as part of its Quality Review process which has been commissioned by the Department of Education and Science in association with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment

14 February 2007 Quality Review of the Qualifications Authority and the European Standards & Guidelines
The third term of reference for the Qualifications Authority’s Quality Review, seeks to evaluate the extent to which the Qualifications Authority, in the performance of its relevant functions, complies with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area.
The Qualifications Authority is seeking comment from individuals and organisations on its draft compliance statements for the eight standards for external quality assurance agencies (Part 3 of the European Standards & Guidelines).

The Dublin Institute of Technology and the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland have agreed to new quality assurance procedures for the Institute.
25 & 26 January 2007 Accreditation and Assessment in Irish Higher Education – The Emerging Scenario, Conference
The National University of Ireland Maynooth (Departments of Education and of Adult Community Education), the Higher Education and Training Awards Council and the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland jointly organised a conference entitled:
- Accreditation and Assessment in Irish Higher Education – The Emerging Scenario.
- Higher Education Institutions Implementing the National Framework of Qualifications in Higher Education and the Bologna Agenda.
11 January 2007 Quality Review of the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland
The Qualifications Authority is currently undertaking a Quality Review which has been commissioned by the Department of Education and Science, in association with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and which will evaluate:
- how effectively the Qualifications Authority has performed its principal statutory functions since its establishment
- the suitability of the organisational structures and processes of the executive of the Qualifications Authority for the performance of its functions in the future
- the extent to which the Qualifications Authority, in the performance of its relevant functions, complies with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area.
The Qualifications Authority is currently seeking stakeholder feedback to inform its self-evaluation process.
