Universities

There are seven universities in the State which are autonomous, self-governing institutions. The universities have played a significant part in the development and early implementation of the National Framework of Qualifications. The universities have been operating the major award-types from Level 7 to Level 10 in the Framework, since the formal launch of the Framework in October 2003.
